Attaining an education is one of the basic needs and a right for every Kenyan. However, many are still not able to access basic education, and in turn, life becomes quite difficult. In the current situation, it seems that a mere bachelor’s degree can sometimes not guarantee an individual a job in the highly competitive market place. In turn, many Kenyans are going back to school to attain a master’s degree and others even a doctorate degree also known as a PHD.
Today is the 25th Graduation ceremony of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and one individual will be given a honorary doctorate degree. It is none other than Mama Ngina Kenyatta, the president’s mother and she will be joining a list of influential people that have received such awards. It is indeed time for her to be recognized in such a manner despite being known as one of the wealthiest women in Africa.
